Earth Hour 2010 aims to reach over one billion people in 1000 cities around the world to switch off their lights for one hour to show they care about climate change.
Switch off and support people and wildlife threatened by climate change!
Brave documentary from the German TV network WDR/SWR about the dubious activities of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Click CC under the video for English subs!
Australia is first country doing earth hour in 2007, and Australians are one of the majority tourist visiting Bali, hence naturally Australians have high possibility to have been inspired by Bali's day of silence. Hope in future Bali got her due credit, at least worth mentioning. Now it's China with it's panda of wwf logo to get undue credit.
I support the movement. However one community is not getting due credit for all this, they are the people of Bali. Every year since many years ago they are doing Nyepi holiday in all cities and villages on the island for full 24 hours at around March (this year is on 16th), by swithching off the light, even extinguishing fire, candles and cigaretes, stopping all cars and traffics as well as international airport.
