As far as I know they arent 100% confirmed to be bach but believed to have been written by Krebs, a scholar of Bach - but that doesent change that they are 16 little evergreens that can be used for almost anything and sound well on a wide variety of instruments.

Thanks for the refresher of how this piece can sound - I decided to play this tomorrow at new years day service but needed to hear a few different interpretations. I play it at twice the speed, but mayby I should just slow down... You should record the fugue too, it is my favourite of all the short preludes and fugues, and so simple, too.

The "lovely 8" go in and out of spurious status. Currently i think they are back in but I am not really sure.

That's prelude BWV 558. The real prelude BWV 557 is in G major.
Beautifully played, on a beautiful instrument. Just the right speed too. Keep up the fantastic work!
