@suckit69er Right, they want nothing to do with us, but we don't give them any other choice. And I am exactly correct on the lyical meaning, I appreciate you restating my words

@uuuummmmYea You have 35 thumbs up, but that is not what the lyrics mean. The song is about sweatshops and the misery they inflict on indigenous people of the lands where they are set up. It has nothing to do with someone being held up physically, it is about workers having no way out of the miserable inhumane conditions in which they are forced to live and work or die as it is the only source of income for them.

@MarineI27 If you don't have the Siren Song booklet handy, then give the sessions @aol version a look on youtube. Pretty clear in his words there
-
@MarineI27 Yea, and what he is saying is that we don't need to rely on foreign labor to run ourselves (USA). Our government won't do anything about it

@RATHORAGE Exactly

@snowboarderforlyfe He wants to be let free to be able to live his own life
Great song, but you had it correct the first time. The lyrics are " Don't hold me up now, I can stand my own ground. I don't need your help now, you *WON'T* let me down down down"
What Tim is trying to say is that he is being held up and wants to be let go. He's not saying that someone will let him down mentally, he's speaking in a physical sense. "Dont hold me up, you won't let me down" Get it?
