Exergaming Australia iDANCE2 supports Justice Crew Performance

Justice Crew are the 2010 winners of the Australia's Got Talent TV extravaganza. When asked by the Hobart City Council to support Justice Crew in a live inner-city performance we literally jumped at the opportunity. We thought our support performance entirely appropriate as Exergaming is becoming a world-wide phenomenon in its own right and completely reinventing how we experience health and fitness.

This is a world first for Exergaming! Never before has an Exergaming solution, iDANCE2, shared a live public stage with a modern performance sensation of such national and international quality as Justice Crew.

We knew this was the perfect solution to support Justice Crew as iDANCE2 is driven my music, rhythm and timing, it's highly visual and incredibly physical.

An amazing group of diverse people gathered to volunteer their time and energies to form our Australian iDANCE2 crew. With ages ranges from 9 to 46, male and female, multicultural, students, group fitness Instructors, gym managers, web designers, technician etc we encompassed all ages, genders and abilities. But that is the nature of Exergaming, it is all inclusive!

Our crew took inspiration from 3 main areas that mesh perfectly in Exergaming: dance, fitness and gaming. With only two weeks to work on our support performance, we choreographed 5 songs with everyone contributing ideas and innovations based on their experience. It was a truly collaborative effort!

On the 9th of October in the middle of Hobart we started our one hour outdoor stage performance to thousands of Tasmanians. Our crew were brilliant! We got on stage and showed the crowd how much fun game-fitness can truly be. Our crew theme was "Individualism in Sync" and you can clearly see from the video how all the crew members sought to 'be themselves' while performing as a unit. Exergaming is intrinsically social and we wanted to demonstrate that in our live performance.

We got kids, adults, performers, radio DJ's, parents on stage to experience what Exergaming is all about. Check the smiles on people's faces as they laugh AND focus while iDANCING away.

We thought we did a great job of warming up the crowd before Justice Crew's amazing performances. We also believe we've made a small impact in people's thinking and that Exergaming has a powerful role to play in our community and reshaping our countries attitude toward health and fitness.

Justice Crew were simply incredible! It was an experience none of our crew will ever forget not just because of their incredible dance skills but also their very real down-to-earth manner. Thanks so much to the guys for taking time out for us to get some photo opportunities and between-performance conversations about our unique dance genres.

This is just the beginning for Exergaming in Australia, stay tuned for much more and remember, ask your schools, gyms and community centres why they don't have iDANCE2 yet?
