Truth About Pak National Anthem

This episode from a Pak TV program superbly highlights Pakistan's identity crisis as a Muslim state in the Subcontinent. The original Pakistani national anthem - commissioned by none other than the country's founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah - was written by a Lahore-based Hindu poet, Jagannath Azad. Yet in 1950 Pak Establishment replaced it with an anthem by Hafeez Jullundhri simply because of resentment against the Hindu religious affiliation of the poet. It is instructive to note as well that Jagannath's anthem was in Urdu/Hindustani - a language intelligible to most Pakistanis - while Hafeez chose little understood Persian for his composition. The episode was recorded by Dunya TV in 2010 as part of its "Dialogue with History" program.

i loved our current national anthem . and i dont even beleive aftab uncle . we should search for the truth before adopting this anthem . but mr. aftab our ancesters has been speaking persian and arabic language and i love both languages. so there shouldnt any problem if it is in persian language
