Ok I have seen more interviews with Schumer and he is doing a good job. So I overstated the case. But I would still like to see Democrats directly address the Republicans' ridiculous arguments more often.

I'm talking about the corporate media. Most people don't watch C-Span. Schumer's comments lack the concision and over-simplification of the Republicans' polished PR campaign. You've got to fight fire with fire and I don't see them doing that.

Unfortunately I think Tony Snow has, not surprisingly, won this PR battle. I think most people now see the Democrats as playing politics and wasting time.
Why don't Schumer and other Democrats make a better case for what they're doing? I never hear them utter the phrase "checks and balances", or point out that congress has the job of watching the executive branch, and not just writing laws, as Snow argues.
