What seems so simple to say, but what to me is so readily apparent - what makes this performance so cool is that you can tell Carly's just having a good time, and it's infectious to the other musicians and the thousands out there in the crowd. She's loving it. So does the crowd. Great stuff.

It's apparent to me now, but listening to this back in the day on the radio, so much is lost from live performance to 45 records over the airwaves ... wish I could have taken in concerts like this when I was younger. Older, wiser and more appreciative of incredible talent as the years have passed. Awesome!

When I would hear this song on the radio driving to school in 1972 in my 1968 Camaro, I thought what life would be like when I would consider 1972 to be the "good old days." Well, it is now 41 years later and for me, life is great. However, the late 1960s and early 1970s in Southern California will always be the "good old days" for me.

It might be the first time she played it in public as it hasn't been recorded yet and look at the audience, they don't recognize the song at all. Not one person in the audience is thinking about ketchup except all the Irish.

She didn't steal the song from Hentz  Carly wrote this song (words and music) in 1970 / 1971. A few years later she let Hentz use the song in their commercial for $50,000. I heard her speak of this in an interview.
