After setting up the snorkels I've never had a chance to get it on film working, so here's a little clip of the Bayou 220 crossing a creek at an ATV park we ride in.

  • Did you do the vent lines to your carburatorand axles

  • @myuncleshouse Yep I did, it really needs to be done especially the crank case breather on top the engine.

  • I don't view this as a test because the whole air box needs to go under water, so really the seat needs to go under. i have a bayou 250 and went through water as deep as that maybe a tad bit deeper without a snorkel so to really test it, get the seat under water =)

  • @SaberWolf1900 At 24 to 27 seconds on the video the quad dug in, and submerged the seat and air box. It sat there and ran until I towed him out. So yes, it did go under, and no there was no water in the air box afterwards.

  • even if you have the snorkel do you still have to keep water out the exhaust.

  • @TheViZionZinHD

Not so long as you keep it running, the problem you run into is if it shuts off, the water will make its way back up the exhaust pipe. The next time you crank it, it may suck water into the engine causing it to hydro lock.

  • at the end it was roped to the other atv

  • @Yellowdog02 Ah i see now, ok thanks for pointing that out to me =)

  • @quadman0928 im not a machanic but i think u have to take the whole engine apart to fix the head gaskit and it would probably take atleast 2days tops

  • @Dylan000021
