I can relate to that so much, I too feel sadness almost every time I listen to a song in Yiddish. It leaves a large hole in my heart. Sometimes it feels like being lost, because loved ones I never got to know are missing..... and I will never have the chance to talk to them or get to know them, and how I would have loved that.......

I see what you are referring to. The "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" had been constructed by the Allied Militaries after WWII, but is legally not successor of "Drittes Reich".... however, there had been many discussions about "collective guilt" in the media in the 1980s, 1990s and still nowadays.... bloodlines, do they really count?

today it is very easy to meet young german jews in my town. The just live their lives here. i just red about Philipp Auerbach. After 45' he was Nazi Hunter in West Germany fighting for retribution of NS Victims. Not only for jewish NS Victims but also for Sinti or homosexual victims or communist. And that is interesting: He was poltically attacked by NS Judges, reinstated in young FRG, but not only by them. nono, it's not about a burden or the legacy. It's just that i wondered how the cities and communities would be like, if there were no Hitler dictatorship. An believe me when i say that see myself not kind hearted. Germany started a war and in consequence about sic! 22 millions died. There is no good or bad german or jew. There are Jews and Muslims and Hindus and Atheists and so on and on.
