yes if a specific church doesn't want a couple to get married in their church that by all means they are allowed to do that; but the government should absolutely be allowing gay couples to be legally married and get all the benefits of being married

The most ironic counter argument I have seen is that a few decades ago most of the same argument was made for "mixed race" couples

Wow, you're leaving out the thousands or even millions of heterosexual men who have molested their kids within the past 20 years.

Who cares? Everyone gets bullied. You're robbing a couple of their happiness because their kid might get bullied. Think about this logically... also as time goes on, gay couples will be more accepted (like interracial couples for instance) and bullying pertaining to this will lessen.

Agreed. We need to ban everything that has resulted in multiple children in being molested. The Catholic Church has had over 4,000 priests molest over 10,000 children in the past 50 years. The Catholic Church must be banned.

As much as I am a Nerdfighter in the Bible it stipulates that marriage is between man and wife. Some of my best friends are gay and lesbian and also christians. Homosexual christians do not want marriage they want a legal equal. Such as in the UK we have civil partnerships. This begs the question who wants gay marriage, homosexual atheists. I dont not believe atheists should be married but rather a legal alternative, due to the fact they do not believe in the god they are being married under.

Then they can say that to a priest, their families, or just to each other. Protection of potential life is the only reason for the government to get involved. See, I firmly believe that the government's role is to protect life, liberty and property - and not someone's life choice.

BTW, if you think about it, deciding how to proceed with an offspring was probably the reason for why the concept of state-enforced marriage was invented in the first place, so don't "doesn't make sense" me!
