Squeel=maybe loose belt, ...run on and hard starting =timing, backfire maybe bad gas ..sticking accelerator pump check valve.or maybe metering rods ..cant tell what kind of carb it is from here ...Autolite?

its your timing dude... fords are the worst when it comes to setting the timing if its just alil off they run like shit.. and they dont like to shut off if you can manage to get them runinng. i own too many fords

That's a major timing issue. Have you removed your heads and screwed with the valve train at all? I would re-adjust the valves and re-time first, that way you are not out any money except for a pair of valve cover gaskets. I had that same problem with my 460, I put in a new timing chain, re-adjusted the valves, re-adjusted the carb and went from running okay to running like a top! 8mpg to 13mpg. I can light up a set of 35's now! Check out my videos on timing your BB Ford.

i found thart the spark plug wires were jumping to the block could that cause a miss fire?

yeah, grounded leads can make a cyninder completely miss the ignition cycle. is the squeak the new noise that the motor is making? if that's the case, i would check some belts.

yeah thats the bels but i cant change the alternator belt. but thats it. and i fixed the issue thanks for the advise
