See http://www.thenaturalguide.com/pure-water.htm for more info. Based on Chapter 1 from The Beginners Guide to Natural Living by Larry Cook, host Zoe Simpson explains that using a reverse osmosis filter is an excellent way to remove chlorine and fluoride from your tap water.

  • I will not drink R.O. water. Water without any "salt" minerals is really bad for someone's health. I know this, working at Norit X-Flow as a membrane researcher..I WILL NEVER DRINK pure R.O. water.!!!!

  • @CarlosWever Minerals can be added. Fluoride is extremely dangerous, and chlorine isn't good either. Life is a trade off.

  • @LarryCook333

That is totally true, but the way she brings it forward, is that YOU can drink water after R.O. membrane treatment, which is NOT true. Also, MOST R.O. membranes AREN"T resistant to CHLORINE ...most R.O. on the market now are spiral wound membrane, which degrade really fast with chlorine. They have to be more precise, it's NOT the membrane which remove the chloring, it's the step before the membrane. (active carbon)....It is miss leading for ppl who don't know....

  • @CarlosWever I'm not an expert in these things—only what I read from manufacturers and how they present their information. Thank you for sharing.

  • @CarlosWever If you look up the nutritional information for tap water you will find that it has VERY little calcium. About 1% of your daily recommended amount. And if you are drinking 100 cups of fluoridated tap water a day you might as well start spreading toothpaste on your toast in the morning.

  • Fluoride is an industrial waste product, the main ingredient in rat poison, and a neurotoxin. Most of the minerals in tap water are inorganic and therefore will not improve your health. So yes reverse osmosis does filter out minerals, useless minerals. Our ancestors have been drinking rain water for thousands of years which does not contain minerals. So if you want to drink shitty tasting water that contains a neurotoxin, pharmaceuticals and little rocks that are somehow good for you, go ahead.

  • @LarryCook333 The best water filter is made by AQUASANA. It filters out all the bad stuff AND leaves in all of the natural minerals

  • @420946 Reply 2....Calcium is important for our bones, normal tap water has enough, but R.O. water does NOT...And only dairy products you can get calcium, but not everybody can or take a lot of milk products...etc etc etc...so bad for your health...NOT ON THE SHORT TERM, but on the LONG TERM...

  • @420946 This following I believe, doesn't mean that it is 100% true. A lot of experts and ppl will say, that we get most of our minerals by eating healty food. I disagree, the daily need of mineral you will not get all the daily minerals, so you have to drink tap water. (which is standard to US or EU regulations).... Not doing so, you can dehydrate yourself... or even get worse, difficioncy of minerals. Calcium for example we need for our bones.

  • @CarlosWever Hi I saw your comment on R.O and I am interested in what damage it does to someone's health, I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to answer as i am genuinely concerned.

  • @CarlosWever I agree with you, devoiding water of all it's alkalizing and electronlytical natural elements leaves a "flat", unnatural, and imbalanced H20. The water in nature contains magnesium, potassium, and calcium minerals, as well as other "trace" minerals. The mineral salts help carry a piezoelectric charge which gives the water antioxidant qualities.

  • @8MunchenBayern8 if that a serious question...Living in the netherlands the tap water we get, has to many Calcium and Magnesium, so I just drink that...I don't believe in bottle water, who said they don't just fill the bottles with tap water and sell them more expensive...

  • @CarlosWever what kind of water do you drink?
