Pinecrest High School's Chamber Ensemble singing South Australia by Stephen Leek. Conducted by James Brown.
After nabbing first at the Festival of Gold 2008 Choir Invitational at Chicago (our women's choir Sotto Voce joining us with first in their division), we went back home to continue working on our music.
This is a recording of our 2008 spring concert.
-----------------
Our fun beer-drinking aussy folk song. I did this song in the North Carolina State Honors Chorus in 2007, and my choir teacher and I really liked it, so we ganked it for ourselves.
I swear, we mess up every time on that a capella section (our choirs have always had the tendency of going sharp since we learned to stay "on the pitch" and sometimes overshoot). Outside of rehearsals, I think we only ever nailed it at our audition for the competition when everything was on the line.
Just when we thought we were home free, though, they asked us to do the song for the encore concert: and we totally fudged it. The song as a whole has always sounded awesome, but that screw up right there probably riled up everyone who lost to us. Not that I can say anything, though, since the last couple years we only landed 4th in, I trash talked the winners. Who the hell do they think they are, beating us?
Kind of funny.
Wow its sooo different because now theres alot of freshman in it (Like me!) But we still sound just as good
