A humanoid figure is evolved to jump as high in the air as possible. A neural network is used to control the humanoid figure. This video was used to illustrate the power of Genetic Algorithms in the talk "Hacking Desire" at Defcon 16, August 2008. 3D rendering by Tyler Streeter. • That's awesome, laughed my ass off at 0:36. Would be fun to see him benefitting more from momentum though, like including arms in an upward motion at lift-off. Good job!

  • ahahaaha i laughed the whole way through

  • Why was this so funny?

  • 0:35 jumped to his death lol :D

  • If the arms where used would it help balance and angle or is that a (real) human flaw we do for no reason?

Maybe if the character knew to crouch down or even do numerous crouches to build energy and allign its balance and trajectory angle (I think thats the word I was looking for) until it has found the best option for the jump or does the program not allow this (I am not aware of the program used).

Hope that made sense, I just try to think what would a real human do to achieve such an action.

  • Omg... awesome

  • I like the way he evolved to prepare his center of gravity before he jumps

  • MOSH!!! GGRRRR
