  • Glad you like the layout, but sadly it is no more.

I have a new bigger better one, check it out. Hornby Dublo Rons 2011 Mercia layout ( 2 parts) All the best Ron

  • And no derailments or decouplings! how do you do it?

  • All couplings are set same correct height and work on the uncoupling ramps, any rock in wagons is fixed. The track is checked and straightened first (especially the points and crossings) then screwed down with attension to detail. In difficult arrangements I lay the points and corners first then the straights (cutting the last staight to fit.)

  • Dude, it's like train city without the scenery. I understand you like your trains. But the scenery should be as much of the set. Add some tree's and building etc...

  • Hi tombo1984, would love to have space for more scenery, but am also trying to complete my colection of Dublo trains. I much prefer to display the locos on track and running than on the shelf. I look at this as more of a collection than a layout. But I do see your point and will take it into cosideration. Thanks Ron

  • I have just recieved a Hornby Dublo Engine through friends, buy only have the most recent 00Gauge track. Is there any way to convert Dublo engines to run on modern track? Thanks.

  • Hi klklkl12321, Hornby Dublo 3 rail locos can be converted to run on 2 rails but the wheels and wiring needs to be changed. This is best done by using original 2 rail Dublo parts. Perhaps it would be easier for you to swap this for a Hornby Dublo 2 rail loco. Regards Ron

  • Tremendous! I remember the noise very well, but can't get the 'smell' of all those burning commutators and gear oil on youtube lol

    Great Layout

  • Great video! It's impressive to see these 50 or 60 year old trains running so well. I note your comments about achieving good running and agree wholeheartedly; vehicles that give trouble and trackwork that gives trouble should be removed and fixed (or, if you can't fix it, sold at a swap meet (joke!)). I did this with my layout, even though it wasn't fixed down, and running was generally pretty good.

  • What a fantastic layout ! Thanks for uploading !

  • hi ron have looked at your old layout and now this, WOW, exellent job m8, i wish i had that space to even get an elevated track , tell ye what though it would look awsome if you added scenery etc, keep up the good work and thanks for showing us, hugh

  • that is so awsome u are so cool ;-)

  • Good Vid! 5 *

I Think I notaced A Few GWR Locos (My Fav) I Live In Hereford In the West Midlands (Cotswolds line) so i live near the GWR. =D

  • Excellent stuff! And don't do the scenery route, please. I admire a sceneried layout as much as anyone, but the appeal to me of 3-rail is running it how it would have been run by boys in its day, i.e. fast and fun!!
