From Horns Of Silence (2007).

Italian Power/Folk Metal

Lyrics:

Hey lai la hey, lai la hey, lai la eh...

Well-hidden in this woods,
There's a place I've been
Behind those oaks
A powerful secret lies
Magical is the atmosphere
Enveloping every thing
The path leads to a clearing,
Forgotten by the time

Now we are in the place
I've dreamt many times
All is exactly
As it was supposed to be
Strange creatures are taking part
In a primordial rite
Nothing can stop us,
The Children of the Night

Take a chance
To join this dance
All that "is" will be revealed
Release your mind
And goblins, goblins all around!
Can't you see?
Everything is more clear
To me and to you
But don't forget
(We've) goblins, goblins all around

And we dance
In this endless carousel
Can't you feel the mystic
Power rising from the ground?
No more bad thoughts
We can leave the world behind
Just keep in mind
(We've) goblins, goblins all around
Goblins all around!

Our most amazing dreams
Are living through this place
We dance into the fire,
Leaving our world behind...

We've touched the power,
A vision of forbidden
These funny creatures
Are (our) blood brothers,
Leaving the foolish
Far from us... far from us!!

Take a chance...

  • I just realised my laptop battery is on 0%, but it is being fuelled by the awesomeness...

  • @Wolham @DroopieB Someone had told me it was a jaw harp awhile ago, but the manner of playing was so different between styles that I didn't recognize it as what's played here. Anyways, thanks again for the information! I'm probably gonna buy one now that I know what it is. It's a really great folk sound, and fits the air of this song perfectly.

  • @olivemitten and @DroopieB Fact is, it's not a brazilian instrument. It's one of the oldest instruments there is, it's called "Jew's harp" or "Jaw harp" in English, and is featured in many cultures, being quite prominent in Scandinavian folk music. In Swedish, it's called Mungiga, mouthharp. It's on Wikipedia under the name Jew's Harp, it you want to read up on it.

  • @DroopieB And how did a Brazilian instrument find it's way into European metal??

  • @DroopieB Thank you so much! Is there an English name for it? It's similar to a jaw harp, but are they distinct?

  • @olivemitten Rofl, right after saying this i found it on google. It's called " berimbau de boca" it's brazillian. Write that on google images and u'll find it ;D peace

  • @olivemitten I have a friend that has one but i forgot the name, i'll ask it then i'll tell it to you. It's small, thumb sized and it's played with ur mouth.

  • What's the springy stringed instrument at the beginning? I've heard it in many songs, like Wildfire Season by Crimfall, and maybe some Finntroll (I can't remember the song, if there ever was one). Please help! I've been wondering for years!

  • @Snakefistify I know but I just wanted to make it clear ^^ )0(

  • @HowlingFullBlood indeed i was being ironic hehe
