In fact, when you pronounce it, ONLY ONE. (excepted â, wich is simply a long "a").
the written term "à" is useful in written french to avoid ambiguities between the verb "avoir" and "à".
On the contrary, in english, you have 8 "fucking"" "A" and absolutly *no rules* to know how to pronounce them!
Very puzzling for non native speakers!

@mat6268 Agreed. That's why so many kids here (USA) have "speech problems". It isn't problems, it's just that the language is so damn hard!

" è " " ë " and " ê " are pronounced the same way, that's the reason why you have heard the same sound for the last three !
