Even child welfare groups agree this is not the way to address child porn so that argument is moot. People who are wanting to access child porn are going to easily get around such a filter and it is widely known that the filter will flag a large amount of false positives. Conry intends to turn Australia into a police state and upon hearing him in many other interviews it is evident he knows very little about technology in general. Conroy does not posses the knowledge have this portfolio.
They're going to piles of tax payer dollars at a filter that wont even work. If this law gets passed, it is proof that we need to take back Australia by force, because its become a dictatorship, not a democracy.
STFU conroy you're full of shit. don't talk about transparency if you won't release the list of sites banned. and stop saying "families will have the tools they need to deal with online problems" like families don't already have internet filters built in to most operating systems? fuck you're full of it. Go back to china if you like censorship but keep it the hell out of our free country.
Seriously, RC content is already blocked this raises other issues and Conroy is full of shit here. He states the independent tests did't show a slow down Internet speeds when they did show it. Even the company producing the filter has said it was essentially stupid and impossible to pull off correctly.
Conroy certainly established beyond doubt the complete uselessness of an Internet Filter and the countless ways in which it WON'T work. He and Rudd continue to MISLEAD the Australian public and try to sneak this dog of a policy through. Rudd aims to hand over a disproportionate amount of power over Australian media, films etc as well as the Internet to vocal right wing religious groups through his 'Public Complaints' component of this policy. Big tick to 7pm Project... Labor Gov is on the nose!
Hahahahaha "2+2=5" was one of the songs playing. A good comment about Senator Conroy

@Weho2 I'm with you on this, though I doubt the liberals would stop an internet filter.
