Does letting your transducer float in the water actually let you see fish on the fishfinder? Dont you have to have it secured to the kayak? What about the power source, what size battery do you use?

down side is its no good when paddling but may be this can work. i know have it stuck in bottom with silicon rubber.

Just letting the transducer float is a very interesting idea. What is the downside other than having the transducer laying around in the boat when not in use?
