Your comparison between writing and sculpting was NOT a metaphor, it was a SIMILE! A METAPHOR is a comparison between two things in which you say one thing IS the other thing. Example: "My mom is a loin because of her strength." A SIMILE is a comparison between two things using the words LIKE OR AS! Example: "Writing a first draft is LIKE digging the clay out of the ground."

Though I will admit that you did use a metaphor to describe revision..

No where in the Nanowrimo rules does it say that you have to write a "GOOD" novel in a month. They just request that you write "A" novel. Nanowrimo is for writing a crappy novel that's busting with great ideas in month. So start outlining for Nano a few months before Nano and it will flow.

@boirlesnow By the way, I finished 2 Nanos and didn't finish 2 Nanos, including this year. :)

That's just one of the mottoes about Nanowrimo. "Anyone can write a novel if you set the bar low enough." Ha!

The book you are trying to reference is in fact, babysittiters club #26, which is called "Claudia AND THE Sad Goodbye"

i cannot comment on the quality of writing because I have not ready any of the aforementioned books.

Water for Elephants started out as a NaNoWriMo novel, and that supposedly an amazing book.

Just saying. Overall, I agree though. It's nearly impossible to write a good book in a month. :)

Haha, it was fun, right? I started on the eighteenth, and only got 30K done...I'm at 60K now...but that doesn't count. :(

I'll probably try this in july or something, when I'm not swimming in work. University studies can be a pain sometimes.

Hm. Twilight was written in a month. No wonder it's shit.
