The "big three" Detroit automakers - Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors - are reeling from the sharpest decline in sales in decades. But at this year's biggest U.S. automobile show, there are signs that new electric technology could mark the beginning of a turnaround that could eventually return U.S. automakers to profitability.
