Conservatives for Patients Rights Action Fund today kicks off a $1 million+ television ad campaign featuring prominent British and Canadian doctors who warn of patients actually dying as they wait for care, and of losing control of their own health care choices in a society where the government has taken over the health care system. The ads detail how the United States Congress has begun copying government-run health care policies which failed in these countries.

  • Frauds! Healthcare Biz NEVER PUTS PATIENTS FIRST! Their fiduciary responsibility is to shareholders. Charging high premiums within a low risk pool & kicking out anyone who gets sick or injured yields huge profits. The good Canadian system has been mortally underfunded as a result of pressure by the entities seeking conversion to a privately funded lucrative system. Underfund Canadian health care long enough & people will fault the system, not the corporate attack. Beware NAFTA HealthBiz sharks!

  • 22,000 Americans die every year due to lack of insurance or being underinsured.

About 1.5 million families lose their homes to foreclosure every year due to unaffordable medical costs.

Medical bankruptcies affect about 2 million Americans annually -- counting debtors and their dependents, including about 700,000 children. 75% of these were insured.

The United States spends six times more per capita on the administration of the health care system than its peer Western European nations.

  • Karol Sikora is a controversial figure. Imperial College has sought legal advice trying to stop him claiming (as he does on his web site) that he is associated with them as Prof of Oncology. He is not. Also he has certified that the Pan Am bomber had only 6 months to live allowing him to get out of jail aganst the advice of other doctors but agreeing with a Libyan doctor. Sikora was paid by the Libyans.

Maybe he says whatever anyone who pays him enough wants him to say...

  • a friend of a friend nearly died because his insurance expired overnight. personally, i think it is at least worth a go.

  • Where to begin, where to begin. Well, we all know Rick Scott is the criminal who got away. K, aaaannd there IS someone between me a doctor, and its called the private sector which makes profit from denying care. Create a public option, we take that profit out. Oh, and POT...meet kettle. There are problems with every system, and right now that system is PROFIT-driven. In a public option, WE can be that boardroom, not greedy millionaires and their cronies like Rick Scott. We voted for change.

  • Bullshit

  • And I suppose people don't die if they don't have enough money to pay for treatment?

  • Gotta love how Conservatives want the government to not interfere with patients choices UNLESS THEY WANT AN ABORTION, then they want nothing more that for the government to interfere and take away that right.

  • Same people who brought you the Swift Boat Liars

Creative Response Concepts ..... are behind these

    lies.

BTW the U.S. is 37 in the world in health care.

  • Yeah, republicans, God forbid the employed uninsured peon surfs should happen to be able to go to the doctor. Then y'all might have to wait even further out for your Dr. appt if forty some million people start going to the doctor.

And thats another thing, folks in Canada coming down to the U.S. for treatment. Wonder if they still would if 40 some million Americans are in on some of this health care.

  • They can't keep lying like this forever.

    It's a paid advertisement, folks.
