Artist: Bobby Gosh
Album: The Spirit of Christmas

Ah yes. FAO Schwarz, the greatest toy store in the world. Featured in Big (1988), especially that famous piano scene. It's been such a part of our childhood. At least, the old one was. Remember that giant clock and its endless repetition of the song "Welcome to Our World of Toys"? Those were the days. It truly was a magical place.

  • What happened to the clock?

  • Alas, it was taken down in the early 2000s following FAO Schwarz's bankruptcy.

  • i wonder if It's A Small World gave Bobby any help in the creatuion of this great song?

  • @trollheimer my heart just broke.

  • @BendikTeigene Yes. The only one that is left is the one inside the GM building in New York. This place rocked back in the day too.

  • @casey3685 No? Is the one in Georgetown Park gone too?

  • hard to believe that this place was in business all over the country at one point only over a decade ago and now the only one left is in New York. Also K.B. Toys. R.I.P.

  • lol Tool 1998

  • @BusterMissy1 Yes

  • Is this the Magic Mountain ride music at Blackpool?

  • Toy stores seem to be a thing of the past, kids just don't play with Toys anymore, they'd rather play....video games.

  • Admittedly, this song used to scare me a bit as a child (even though mum purchased it for me on cassette when I was around three years old or so and would play it in spite of my wary looks), but since FAO was always my "local" toy store, I find that I sorely miss hearing it and seeing the old clock!
