Come, ever-smiling liberty,
And with thee bring thy jocund train.
For thee we pant, and sigh for thee,
With whom eternal pleasures reign.

  • Wow, Elias, I just found this one! It's absolutely wonderful. And I just gave it its first rating (5* of course). And the words are there too, so I can add it to my repertoire right away.

    Thanks for this one.

  • I actually do, although I find her more Mozart-ish. Picture her in La Clemenza di Tito, specifically "ah perdona al primo affetto" (a duet)But I also like the job she did in "So Shall the Lute and Harp Awake". Her embelishment at the end is more intricate than the one of Victoria de Los Angeles (who's also great). I like her accuracy as opposed to the overly operatic type that wabbles back and forth on any given note so that you're not sure what it is.
