@ScottMacFie Well said....St. Philip Cathedral in Atlanta is another example of Liberal Mediocrity gone wild to the point of being nothing but a JOKE spiritually, intellectually and musically....!!!

the United Methodist Church is going the way of the Episcopal Church (once the formal leader of American Anglicanism): Both will be gone as major denominations within 10-15 years in the United States. Too many years of liberal theology, coupled by a lack of biblical standards, and of course, also, political correctness, and low birth rates/baptisms. Two of the most liberal American churches are two of the LEAST diverse, OLDEST and WHITEST.
Come home to Rome, or the Anglican Church in N.A.

I can't imagine worship on Easter Sunday at a United Methodist Church of any size without hearing this hymn.
-
@PfaelzerOrganist: The clergy wearing black robes with seasonal stoles and the acolytes wearing a surplice is actually pretty common in UM churches. Recently at my church the clergy have been wearing white robes with stoles, saving the black robes for Lent and funerals, but it all depends on the congregation. In small or rural UMCs, or contemporary services, the clergy often don't wear robes.

here I am, hoping to worship with some Methodist friends of mine tomorrow night enjoying this Wesleyan hymn

@moproducer I agree completely, this is christian worship and doctrine and culture at its best, wow, beautiful!

I love how in right in the beginning there's like nobody singing and everyone joins in at like "risen today"
This, to me, is what worship really is. I'm not picking on you if you prefer 'contemporary worship', but I can't see an inch beyond the hype and entertainment value. These people are praising, making their joyful noise and offering it to the Almighty.
Notice there's no applause, just a loud "Amen!". They know who they are praising, and it's not each other.
