The point of living life for an Atheist is that once it's over, it's over. There isn't a heaven to go to, so you had better make the best out of the life you're given. Also, lack of religion does not mean lack of morals. I refrain from doing bad things because I know that they're wrong and I understand there are consequences, not because a holy book or god told me it was wrong. Murder and suicide are more heinous a crime when you believe there isn't an afterlife.

@Drgamedood I'm not saying that he wasn't a Christian because he did bad things because I consider myself a Christian but that doesn't change the fact that I'm a sinner. I have sins of commission as well as sins of omission. James 2:14-26 explains my point which is basically faith without works is a dead faith or an empty profession of faith. Even demons believe in God (verse 19) but they will not be in heaven. He may have had a deep faith in God but apart from Christ it is a false faith.

@naj1978 You're saying he wasn't a "true" christian. This is a "no true scotsman" fallacy. If you're going to say he wasn't christian merely because he did bad things, then lots of christians throughout history wouldn't be christians. The crusaders, inquisitors, etc were all christians. No one seriously argues otherwise on the basis that they "did a few bad things".

@Drgamedood Okay I'll let you have that some historians find certain quotes unreliable so that they can reconcile obvious contradictions in Hitlers writings. Let's look at the big picture though, despite quotes about God's providence and condemning atheism his actions speak otherwise. If you are a Christian you will bear fruit (John 15:8). In other words Hitler may have talked the talk but didn't walk the walk. To my knowledge there was no evidence of repentance in his life. Repentance is key.

@naj1978 All of hitler's alleged anti christian statements come from the table talk. Hitler's table talk is considered unreliable by historians because the anti-christian statements don't appear in the original german text. They were made up by french translator François Genoud. The french translations are what english translations rely upon. Furthermore, the talk was heavily edited by martin bormann, a very anti religious atheist.

@Drgamedood I guess you would win other than the fact that Hitler wasn't a Christian. Like I said he was a big fan of propaganda. Your thinking can't reconcile all of the contradicting quotes of Hitler so you pick one and ignore the rest. I'm so proud that we have become masters of google these days to substitute for real studying.

@naj1978 "God the Almighty has made our nation. By defending its existence we are defending His work...."-Adolf Hitler in a radio address, 30 Jan. 1945
hmmmm, guess i win. :D

@truelyunforgivable Atheists still value life. We respect others because we want others to treat us with the same respect. If anything we value life more because we believe our time on this earth is limited so we have to make the best out of it.
can someone explain atheism to me, not what it is, but why people follw it. I'm not a christian, but face it, dying and nothing happening, kinda a bad way of seeing life, if it was true, everyone would more or less kill themselves, what's the point of life. I mean if your life doesn't mean anything, why give a hell about crime, so what he killed a guy, that man would have died at some point. Just thinking that doesn't feel right, any atheist want to shed some light on this?

@truelyunforgivable
Atheism is not a belief system. It is a rejection of groundless claims of deities.
