Bill Clinton: Hillary was right on Rwanda

Clinton explained that she (Hillary) had wanted the United States to intervene in Rwanda in 1994, when hundreds of thousands of people died in a genocide that lasted just a few months.
Clinton has often said that not acting in Rwanda was one of his biggest regrets. It's a decision, he said, for which he continues to try to make amends. Had he listened to his wife, Clinton said, things might have been different.

  • That's because western power will only interfere when they're to gain something from it. If there's no oil, no diamonds, no gold, nobody cares.

  • "They´ve been sent not to stop the killing but to rescue their own citizens..", referring to the Belgians, French and Italians sent to save only their own nationals...very telling about where Europe has come as society: selfish, pathetic, morally and spiritually empty, where absolutely nobody gives crap about anyone.

  • @TheMossad921 Nice language. Sláinte to you, my wisest of fellow citizens of the World.

  • @formerfan no other country does ANYTHING about any problem in the world so shut the fuck up thats simply not true...over a billion people are free thanks to the US you cocksucker

  • and this jackass got the noble peace prize!

  • @StoneyLaTroy No, the Hutu leader's plane was shot down and portrayed as an RPF act. The genocide was well planned. The Hutu radio station was broadcasting anti Tutsi propaganda for a few years before that and even instigated killings of the Tutsis. Overall, the ultimate goal of post-colonial Hutu-governed Rwanda was to eliminate all Tutsis - it was not a knee-jerk reaction.

  • I believe the UN is a real failure. Stupid behavior from nations like China just out to make a power-statement. Inaction from everyone else, a legislative deadlock on everything important. One needs to question why there exists such a body. And the US negotiated the price of supplying ammo to the UN mission. Such incompetent fools should not be in charge of 6 billion lives on the planet.

  • and people say Clinton was one of the greatest presidents, thats laughable, he just sat back and watched as nearly a million people are slaughtered,

  • 7:30 - 8:35 8:52 - 10:45 Video

  • ok so we just started learning about the this topic last week in my US history class and from my understanding Rwanda was control by Belgium and the Hutu ethic group hated the Tutsi because they thought Belgium favored the Tutsi's over them just because the Tutsi's were more light skinned and taller like the Europeans. Finally when the Rwandan President's Juvenal Habyarimana plane was shot down by a pillar grenade rocket launcher in 1994 accusing Tutsis of the crime.Thats when everything started

  • Oh, this "Hillary told him so" stunt is just shameless...

The withdrawal of US troops from Rwanda was no "slip" whatsoever.

It was very deliberate, under the excuse of bad experience from Somalia and fear for the security of US soldiers.

It was just one episode of undermining UN in order to provide pretext for redefinition of NATO's role - shifting from military and political alliance to political and military alliance, as the old man Zbig put it nicely.

  • imagine all those little kids being slaughtered bill clinton. john lennon would be puking up his guts...imagine if you didn't have all those digusting meetings that involved saving your presidential face...
