We had visited the museum in San Jose and became even more intrigued with our next planned landfall, the uninhabited Cocos Island which lies 300 miles south west of Golfito. The romantic history of pirates hiding their loot there and the several attempts to search for their treasures was intriguing. But the real treasure we experienced was the unbelievable beauty of the island with it's waterfalls, cool mountain streams, lush foliage, abundant sea and wildlife, and the peacefulness and tranquility that you felt just being there. It is truly an Enchanted Island.

  • @rolfch5 "the rangers are a pain"??? WTF have you ever dealt with US Fish & Game?

The Cocos rangers are the BEST thing that ever happened to that island. I hope they arrest everyone who goes there ilegally -especially if they are americans, the new ocean pirates.

  • Nice video. You didnt find the gold then ???...... The rangers are a pain, it was better withouit them!
