when I first heard this, I remember my lips stayed open in wondrous awe from the first to the last note.the entire song felt as if it lasted 2 seconds and as if it had snatched me into a rush to somewhere uncontrollable and of unknown beauty. I was 14 then and I knew not one word of english. but his oblique sincerity was all I was on about, then and ...now.

I've always loved this since I first heard the Space Oddity album - one of the most beautiful and literate love songs ever composed and yet it's hardly ever played on any medium unless your a Bowie fan.

30 years ago I was introduced to this song by someone I loved ... I wrote the words onto a piece of paper because I thought it was like a poem and the other day I rediscovered it and have rediscovered Bowie singing it here for the first time since then ..when I was 18 .. it means a lot to me ..
