haha.. i actually had my sons baby seat in the back. Its a great car to drive when you have to drive your wifes car. I just had to take it to the track to see what it would run. I drive a modded chrysler 300c with a baby seat in the back also..lol

eh ive driven both cars...first of all i would say that this probably not the HEMI charger, neither the charger R/T, daytona, or the srt-8, its probalby just that sxt model. second the avalon is not the number one selling car in the US the mustang is, averaging 15 minutes from delivery to a dealership to pickup. and both the HEMI charger and the avalon are two cars that exceed expectations in their respective categories, but the categories are dif so its hard to compare them to each other.

i got u .. check my comment below.. i actually beat my buddy in my wifes avalon a couple time due to my reaction time. but the times were only 1/10th off. the avalon definitely surprised me. 9.5 best in the avalon (stock) .. 9.4 best in the r/t (with catback and traction mod) .. he dosent even have the r/t now.. he sold it.. the avalon is my wifes car by the way.. i drive a 300hemiC.

yes.. i was actually surprised by the outcome. this is only an 1/8 mile track. it would not have been that close if it was a 1/8 mile. The guy with the r/t had a borla catback so i think he suffered some a decrease in low end torque. My 300C with the same engine less 50 lbs ran 2/10ths quicker with just an intake. 9.4best for the r/t, 9.511 best for the avalon, 9.2 for my 300c before mods..

Charger is a pathetic car... a V8 car, which is designed for performance, could barely beat a V6 car, which is designed for comfort & luxury,... Avalon achived its objectives which are comfort & luxury & also achieved Charger V8 objectives which is performance while Charger couldn't achieve its main goal: Performance... Camry is also way better than Charger... That's why it's the top selling car in the U.S. for 1997, 98, 99, 00, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 & 07... Also, Toyota is more reliable than Dodge

@FlowmasterGP Well that's the whole reason behind the Avalon keeping up with the charger. I would like to see the new charger with the ZF race this, that would be a better comparison. The new charger is such an improvement over the 1st gen.

the avalon kept up because the charger weighs 530 lbs heavier, it's all about the power to weight ratio, no one ever thinks about that.

@chevylover9340 not saying its impossible as theres a video of a Small block chevy swapped 98 avalon on youtube. But you already said you supercharged your avalon motor, then swapped a cheyv motor.  And you do realize it would be much harder than just finding mount points. Please post a video of your avalon if you did all that to it.

@amorgan93 kinda sorta yeah. It took some doing. Had to find the right kind of tranny that would fit it. I think that was from a 1999 or 2000 Impala SS we found wrecked in a junkyard. Welded on new mount points, after we were done the front suspention had to be pushed outward so the CV axles could fit....

@amorgan93 Like I told the other dude, It's only slightly supercharged... and way overhauled. Got board one night and stuck a motor out of a 2000 Camaro. Mounts were a b**** and so was the hood, so it went away. It ONLY took two weeks between that and work work...

@chevylover9340 Not possible unless you added the trd supercharger and supporting upgrades. or an engine swap of some sort. I drive a 98 (same engine and body style) and its 8 seconds to 60.

@Mattskucas well to be honest. I did have a slight bit of supercharging and bored out the cylenders to 3.1 and put new high performance valves and lifters.
