I had the chance to test out the "water resistance" of my Kodak Zx1 HD camcorder. I'm happy to say after recording this it's still work just fine. UPDATE: Because my camera suddenly just failed I'm updating to suggests others try another camera. It flat out stopped functioning with no ability to fix it. No change of batteries, no change of SD card (or none at all) fix the issue of the camera even turning on at this point.

It's a little over a year old now and just stopped working. Sad.

  • How do you make it fullscreen? Please reply

  • @austinmcdaniell Hmm, I'm not sure. You mean full screen on your monitor or do you mean aspect ratio? The fullscreen button on the bottom right corner will full screen on your monitor. The aspect ratio was set to 16:9 (widescreen) when I recorded this (in 720p res). Hope that answers your question.

  • I was asking me something, maybe the trouble with the FPS and video slowness, is because of the SD people use. The flip has the memory in the chipset, and this may work faster, thats why they don't offer expansion. Maybe, if you put a CLASS 10 or better SDHC on this KODAKS, video quality really improves because the camera<->memory transfer velocity increase a lot than using a normal SD.. Did you try that?

  • @leandeganis

A slow SD card, that's possible. I think it's more likely just a bad re-encoded file (if I recall correctly, this wasn't a raw file I uploaded to youtube). I don't recall for sure but I used a linux program to re-encode. If you like, check out some of my other videos in HD, they're all from this same camera.

  • @za7ch maybe a bad reencoding too.. I've just saw v=LNnXFVmImhY I think it is from this same camera, but you remember what is de difference between the two videos? Did you change the SD? are you using other convert format? Because is way times better video quality

  • @leandeganis

It is from the same camera. Encoded the video in iMovie and used a class6 (I think) SD card.

  • laggy=(?

  • @austinmcdaniell Thank you, and i mean on the camera. How did you make it full screen recording? or does it differ on every editing system

  • @za7ch so, i start thinking that kodaks aren't as bad as I used to think. Mostly because of this video v=RMnu1dFAQlc, in wich you can see on the reflex at 0:37 that it is really a Zi6 (the cheapest HD one).

  • @za7ch i think I could still fix it. But you've had this camera for a whole year, didn't you compare with a Flip? most vloggers uses it, thats why I know how Flip record. And comparing with all kodak (zi6 zx1..... ) the flip is still better RECORDING. You may say that have less functions, that you cannot use removable batteries, neither put an SD because it has onboard memory... but the product the camera gives (the video) is still better than a kodak. Smooth movements, sound, less grains..
