See how a coming resurrection and a certain trumpet show us when to expect the rapture of the believers to the clouds.

  • Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

  • @m97018 b) There are many references in the NT to help us see what happens to believers when they die. E.g. - the testimony of the Book of Revelation. In chapter 6 we see those who have been martyred for believing in Jesus. They are in heaven. They are cognitive. They cry with a loud voice. They are spoken to by the Lord. Then in ch 15 we see standing in heaven those who have the victory over the beast, having been killed. They hold harps & they sing. Please accept the testimony of Scripture!

  • @m97018 a) Heb 4 does not say the spirit is just thoughts and attitudes of the heart. The Greek word for "spirit" is used many times in the NT of the Holy Spirit, men's spirits and evil spirits. When Christ was quickened He "went and preached unto the spirits in prison" - those who were disobedient in the days of Noah, 1 Pet 3,19f. How could Jesus preach to them if they were sleeping?

"Sleep" is an allegorical term describing the *believers* death, awaiting being "woken up" in the resurrection.

  • @arovir Hebrews chapter 4 says the spirit is the thoughts and attitudes of the heart, the soul and body is what needs to be redeemed, when god breathed life into man he became a living soul. The spirit is part of the soul, the soul still sleeps,Jesus said Lararus was in a deep sleep and Jesus said Lazarus come out and raised him from the dead.Death is like a dreamless sleep no conscious thought, when your christian after dying your next conscious thought you will be with the Lord.

  • @m97018 2) According to Scripture the 1st resurrection happens at the coming of Christ which is post trib. It concerns those who belong to Christ. It's called the 1st resurrection to differentiate it from the 2nd resurrection (of the rest of the dead) after the Millennium.

David's spirit is not in the grave. His spirit is in heaven. He is awaiting his bodily resurrection, just like Paul who testified several times of going to be the Lord when writing of his impending death.

    I believe Paul.

  • @m97018 1) In Acts 2 Peter is explaining prophecies written by David in Ps.16 & 110 concerning the resurrection of Jesus and His ascension to heaven. Peter says David did not speak of himself but of the Messiah. Therefore Peter says David was not the One prophesied about as ascending to heaven in a resurrection body. This passage does not deny the testimony of the whole NT that the spirits of those who die in Christ go to heaven. There are many more verses showing this than the few I gave you.

  • @arovir Look at Acts chapter 2 verses 29-34 David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day, and he did not ascend to heaven. So the first resurrection in Revelation hasn't happened yet, the voice of the arch angel and trumpet call of god hasn't happened yet.David is still in the grave, waiting for the Lord to resurrect him so the promises can be fulfilled. The 2 witnesses go to heaven before post trib that would make them the first resurrection bible doesn't say that, the bride is 1st.

  • @m97018 - Yes, Rev 20 talks of 2 resurrections 1000 years apart. The 1st of these 2 resurrections happens at the coming of Christ post trib (ch 19) and involves the dead in Christ. They will be "raised imperishable" 1 Cor 15:52. Any resurrections prior to this are not this type of resurrection (except for Christ's!). Following your thinking the 1st resurrection must have happened before the raising of Lazarus etc!

Peter wrote to believers in the area of Turkey. Sorry, your sentence wasn't clear!

  • @arovir Revelation 20 talks about 2 kinds of resurrections believers and unbelievers, the 2 witnesses are resurrected at mid trib, there had to be a resurrection before that., resurrection means to come back to life, and to redeem a body. The first resurrection had to happen before the 2 witnesses died and got on their feet 3 days later.1 Peter chapter 1 verse1 mentions Pontus,Galatia,Cappadocia,Asia, and Bithynia.

  • @m97018 2) I cannot find what you say about 1 Peter in that letter.

A multitude in heaven shouts Hallelujah in Rev 19. Notice in ch. 6 martyrs in heaven shouting. This suggests those in ch 19 are the dead in Christ. Rev 19:7-8 tells us the bride is comprised of the saints. They are mentioned being on earth in nearly every chapter in Rev covering the tribulation until Christ's coming post trib when He will be united with His bride and celebrate the wedding on earth. See the video I suggested! :)
