A conversation with Ulrich Roesch, teacher of Social Studies with the Social Sculpture Unit at the Goetheanum (World Center for Anthroposophy) in Dornach, Switzerland, reveals liberty gaps between German and New York cops i.e. While New York cops are not allowed to have political opinions while in uniform, German cops are allowed to have and voice their personal opinions - about anything! So far Germany does not seem to be falling apart from this outrageous freedom of speech for the cops thing! But still, Uli says it is not perfect there and we all have to do the non-violent, Satyagraha thing to make the change toward a society worthy of humanity, which these ones these days, dominayted by corporate "persons", ain't. However, we start with a sweet recapitulation of Flux art hero and Anthroposophist Joseph Beuys' use of honey pumps in art installations' office settings "to sweeten the workplace", to soften dead rabbits' minds, and to awaken heart. Maybe honey might reawaken Obama's seemingly dead, highly corrupted, nearly imperceptible heart? Michelle! Honey honey honey before Obummer invades yet another country with nobody's permission but his own! Ulrich Roesch also reveals how Anthroposophists guide and manage many German prisons and are making of them centers for spiritual study where inmates can find a "better relationship with their guilt", and hence transform to greater lovingness and understanding. Can you imagine an American prison manager actually caring about a perpetraitor, actually looking at life from their shoes for a minute...how this might change our prison-profiteering America? Can do! Still, there as here the Right presses on and advances just as the Left does. The battle between love and hate, warm and cold, freedom and feudalism IS being waged, and it is up to us to create a post-nationalist, art-infused, heart-enlivening and imaginative future truly worthy of the human being! And in harmony with, and as an extension of, mother nature. Can do!

Ulrich will be speaking at the Anthroposophy Cenyter of NYC June 24 at 7 on human rights and human responsibilities as expressions of social art, and at the Harlemville, NY Restoring the Realm of Rights Conference June 30 - July 3. Let's all welcome this gentle European, who has written books including A Better World is Possible and Joseph Beuys' Concept of Money: Toward a Post-Nationalist Future among others. There is so much for us to share and learn from this mensch!
