From the Iditarod site: Sigrid Ekran was born in 1980 and grew up in Norway, where she got a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology. In the summer of 2003 she came to Alaska for a canoe trip, and ended up staying. She started a Masters in Northern Studies at UAF, which she finishes summer '07. She started mushing in Norway, but didn't get into racing until she moved to Alaska. She will spend this year training her dogs in Eureka, near Manley. Sigrid is a team member of Will Steger's 2008 Ellesmere Island Expedition through Canada in late March.
