This is my submission to the YouTube 'Life in a Day' project. It documents a trip I made on the project's recording day of 24th July 2010, in which a friend and I travelled to Tokyo Tower from where I have been living temporarily in Koga, Ibaraki prefecture, Japan. We drove from Koga to a nearby rural town called Nogi, from where we took the train to Tokyo. We took a brief walk from Ueno to Asakusa, and then made our way to Tokyo Tower.
You may think just filming a journey seems dull, but my aim here was to capture a rural slice of Japanese life in addition to the busy urban image people associate with modern Japan. If we are to summarise life in one day, then all aspects of life need to be captured. We need the known and the unknown. I included the little-known town of Nogi to represent rural life in Japan.
Whether all or just some parts of this footage are used, I hope it can be of some use to the Life in a Day project.
That's totally my neck of the woods. Nogi! Just down the road from Mibu in Shimotsuga. LOL! LIAD got 2 videos filmed just a few kilometers apart. How funny! :-)
