Orthodox bell is ringing - it drives me crazy

This is an Orthodox bell ringing in Athens. My home is situated 400 metres away from the church but the sound is still extremely loud. The level of the noise is above the levelallowed by the law but the police does nothing.

Every time we call the church to tell them to bring the noise down (this bell is electrical) they shut the phone by telling us to move to another house.

This is Churche's orthodox facism in modern Greece. Because of that facism and because of the sexual and economical scandals of clerics, young people in Greece avoid to go to the church and stay away from the religion.

The bell rings everyday (including Sundays) at 7H15, 8H00, and 8H15 in the morning and again at 18H00 in the afternoon. In Greece, if you leave near a church and you have a night shift (or you are a pilot) you are obliged to get up at 7H15 even on Saturdays and Sundays because of the bell.

Δυστυχώς ή Ορθόδοξη Ανατολική Εκκλησιά Α.Ε. δεν υπάγεται στους νόμους τους Κράτους όπως έχει αποδειχτεί. Εδώ απαγορεύουν την είσοδο του μισόυ πληθυσμόυ σε περιοχή (τυπικά) της Ε.Ε., το 'Άγιο Όρος' με το έτσι θέλω. Well, I think it's sad that you can't appreciate the beauty of the bells or of Orthodox Christianity. The church has been there longer than you, so I'd say if you don't like it, then maybe you should move someplace else. What would be fascist is if the bells were silenced due to anti-religious prejudice such as what you appear to have.

I really can't understand why you're complaining in English. Do you think you 'll get help from abroad or you haven' t been taught how to read and write in greek. Whatever... I think you should move to another country, because soon, thanks to people like you, we will be obliged to listen to the muezzins calls to Allah as well. But I guess this won't bother you...

Churches in Greece have been doing this for centuries. Why should they stop just because you don't like it? Would you complain to the police department because you don't like their sirens sounding at night? Buy some earplugs or find another apartment.
