Learn how to match the color of objects between different photos. Here we cover the use of the LAB color space mode, hue and saturation adjustment layer, color range command, layer mask, and the levels command to perfectly match colors. This is very quick once you get the hang of it. Part 2 of 2.

  • In LAB mode you can also use the (Image>Apply Image) method to place information from the Lightness Channel into the A & B Channels to provide color. Then you just need a Curves adjust layer to match your numbers in the info pallet. Curves provide more flexibility than Levels. You can target specific areas where you want to adjust color or contrast. Also remember that LAB mode PSD files have to be converted to RGB to print. :)

  • Do you know of a way to do this:

Take one grayscale image, and automate this match color feature to match the image using multiple swatch colors open in the workspace, and save them all as new images? (Automatically)
