Lankhoss' C6 Z06 vs. '02 Lingenfelter Z06

Lingenfelter has the Stage II package, dyno'ing 614 RWHP SAE @ 10.5 PSI on pump gas. The C6 Z06 has the MTI Stage I package (intake, headers, catted X-pipe, tune) and is making 501 RWHP SAE. On the 1st and 3rd races the Lingenfelter was not wide open throttle at any point in 3rd gear because he would spin if he did go WOT. He WAS wide open in 3rd gear in the 2nd race from 60 MPH. The Lingenfelter had a ~160 lb passenger. This video really shows how much it takes to overcome the initial advantage a slower car may have over a much faster one - in this case, Lank went wide open in 2nd gear and hooked and the Lingenfelter had to baby it in 3rd, then tried to come back hard in 4th but it takes more time to really pull on the Z because of the initial disadvantage.

The Lingenfelter was really babying it in 3rd, didn't really get into it until 4th - that makes a massive difference. The Lingenfelter no doubt has a stronger top end than the C6 Z.

Trust me, the Lingenfelter is a faster car. He just spun like crazy and we never got a good run. I raced this guy at the drag strip several times, and he consistantly trapped 2 - 4 mph faster than me.

Very good description. I was thinking Lankhoss was either jumping the gun(getting the hit) or spinning. He should be running a better tire. S/C C5Z in my video hooks in first with stock size BFG DR's.

yea. i got my 05 C6 for 28,000 in perfect condition only problem was it was too quite. corsa xtreme are going on soon!!

Yeah, they defiantely come reasonable used. About six months ago a used car dealer had a 2006 C6 Z06 with under 8,000 miles on it for $32,000. I just about shit myself when I saw that add. Not bad for something that competes with Ferraris.
