Johnny said he loved the sound of the National Steel guitar because "It sounds like a garbage can with strings". Yeah, man. That's a deep funky country blues sound! Johnny is the best there is!

A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to jam with Sarasota Slim in St. Pete, FL back in 1989.
I said "Sure !"..halfway there, he pulled out Johnny Winter tickets. One of the best shows I have ever seen, and I have been to hundreds. Slim opened for him..but I just tried to stay sober. I went back to Janis for JW the next year, and to another club the year after that.

@neojoe100 - That's right! SRV was amazing and God bless him, but with Johnny it's not even a guitar anymore, it's something else. It's a projection of his soul like Jimi Hendrix did in his way. It's beyond music. It's superduper music of the Gods! I've seen Johnny over 200 times from 1971 to the present and he knocks it outta the park every time!

....DELTA BLUES is a harder form of blues. Regular blues has 3 chords while Delta has 9 plus it's progression. That's differentiate JW from the rest.

He should have at least 5 Grammys already and a place in RR Hall of Fame.Many less talented but better managed have both.Johnny R U L E S!
