hey is there any way to do layers like photoshop
so you can erase the image and the 2nd layer pops in?
like so you can do 3 of the same person in 1 image?

I have used Aperture 3 since it came out and knew about most of the techniques you demonstrated. However your exposition was a model of calm clarity which greatly added to my understanding. Many thanks and I look forward to viewing your other contributions.

great tutorials man!!
question on duplicates: when you create them are they still a referenced version of the master or are they a brand new image on your hard drive?

Referenced version of master. Create as many versions as you'd like and you won't take up any more space on your hard drive.

Was at 1:08 and already gave this a thumbs up! I really like this video, thank you! I was confused at what to do if you wanted to radically change a photo and keep its original next to it. :)
But can you explain why there are sooo many different containment options for the photos? (folders, projects, albums, smart albums, etc.) why does aperture have soooo many different versions? Is project different that album (when creating a new one to display in side bar)? thanks!
GhostReconRepublic 1 year ago
@GhostReconRepublic Thanks for the feedback. Yeah all those organizing options are different entities, either for different levels of hierarchy (e.g. folder holds projects which hold albums, like russian dolls that fit inside each other), or different functions (e.g. you can manually add or remove items from an album, but a smart album is smart because it's all automated based on criteria you input — no manual adding or removing of images).
