  • I seriously don't get the deal with people on and on and on about who is best. And it's always at the expense of someone else. Who cares. If you enjoy the music, if you respect the artist, who cares who thinks who it best. Just listen, enjoy, and keep an open mind. now THAT really is what is BEST.

  • And than to think that there is an enormous "sub culture" on this planet who still believe after hearing these real guitar gods that guys like malmsteen, lane, vai etc. are the better skilled guitar players. It makes me laugh every time again.

  • The best musician is the one who creates or performs the music they love the most. They are all the best because they do what they love! Man I love McLaughlin, I have for as long as I've loved Vai, Satch, SRV, Dimebag, Marty Friedman and all the rest but they all do their thing and they all do it well. No more bickering; it's music...enjoy it!

  • Thank you very much !

  • @IncaRoad01 I seriously don't get people who rant on youtube

  • @checkingdude You're right, I learnt to play the guitar aspiring to be like shredders like Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen or John Petrucci, then I saw a concert that changed my life: my classical guitar teacher (the great Italian guitar player Andrea Candeli) jazzing around with Alessio Menconi, one of the Italian jazz guitar top players. I was impressed. Then I understood that jazz players are the best players.

  • @jazzlefty what are you talking about?

  • @turnbacktime you need to open and listen to better music dude!! this is not speed races, we are talking about art , no machines doing more note per minute.

  • se puede ver que en esa epoca John estaba mentoreando a Paco, de buena manera, siendo el con buena experiencia en el terreno del jazz y dimeola estaba subido en su nuve de ego, los 3 muy talentosos.

  • @IncaRoad01

Fairly straightforward: for some, making a contest out of it allows for the precious "win" that is apparently needed to nourish the ego.

Good point on the open mind. Imagine the breadth/wealth of material missed by the closed mind.

What's interesting is that, if you speak with most professional musicians, you rarely hear them speak in terms of 'best this', 'better than so and so'.
