The combination of the E-flite Blade 400 helicopter and Spektrum DX6i introduced a new level of RTF performance with a fully ready to fly, 3D-capable model. Many pilots are having their first experience with a high performance RC helicopter, and the Blade 400 can be great fun. Mark Padilla, E-flite product developer, has developed some DX6i setup tips that will help the less experienced heli pilot be successful with the Blade 400. In our video, Mark is going to lead us through the DX6i programming setups that will fine-tune the performance of your Blade. Try this out—you will like it.

Watch our video then grab your DX6i, select a new model memory, copy the Blade 400 to a new model setup and make the changes Mark outlines. When you are finished it will be necessary to bind the model to this new model memory. You can pause the video to allowing you time to make the changes.

  • Can you guys make a model memory upgrade Goethe DX6i. I already have 7 models on it. I wish we could like send it in and then you can do the upgrade for maybe like $60 every 10 models you upgrade

  • @Rcflyyer1 I apologize but the firmware and hardware of the DX6i just won't facilitate that. If you're looking for more model memories I'd check out either the DX8 or the DX7s.

  • What is expo? What are the gyro %'s? What is the utility of changing the curves in these ways?

it'd be nice if you explained what the changes you're making actually do, instead of having us blindly parrot all your settings.

  • @blurglide That's a great point and I do apologize that it wasn't more clear. Expo refers to how sensitive the sticks are around center. Say you move the stick 5% away from center for example. Expo allows you to have that 5% movement translate to more or less actual movement on the heli depending on your personal preference.

Thanks to your pointing this out we'll be doing an article in the near future to help clarify these things.

  • Could you please tell me the difference between A-EU328 and B-US245 in the power setting of this transmitter dx6i. How could you tell or approximate the transmission range?

  • @femtophysiker If you are in the US then use the B-US 245. If you are outside the US then you need to use the A-EU328. It all has to do with federal regulations regarding power output.
