@saleall Not really, keep in mind that between the first cells and humans was multiple billions of years

Along with "Permutation City", "Greg Egan", "TVC" etc.

I've searched for this exact concept on Youtube before, but used the terms "3d cellular automata" and didn't find it. You should add those words as tags!

@saleall aka a computer virus (im told by a computer guy)

if we build some type of self replicating software or robot, they could be a chance that we may not understand the complexity of it structure and function, after it has replicated itself and got better and better after a time, just like our own evolution.

wow i would imagine that that machine took a long time to make was it build in stages testing individual components or did you have to plan the hole thing out before it could work is it reducible or not i guess is what im asking?

@Doopdon I started with an overall plan showing which subsystems were needed and where they might be placed. Then I worked on the most difficult subsystems first: the sorter for identifying parts obtained from the environment, the storage areas for storing and dispensing parts, and the construction arm for positioning parts in space and connecting them together. The control unit which directs the machine's actions was relatively straightforward in comparison.
