MARCEL OSTERTAG MBFW BERLIN AUTUMN/ WINTER 2009

The Munich-based designer Marcel Ostertag follows a simple principle. Nothing is given out of hand, nothing is left to coincidence. All the collections are created in a small studio in Munich´s city centre, the production is also carried out in Germany.
Marcel Ostertag and his small team work in the Glockenbach-quarter and enjoy the creative and pulsating life which fills the little streets and the Viktualienmarkt with inspiration. The Munich easiness and the daily joy of beauty, tradition and yet modern lifestyle give the designer creative freedom and a feeling of comfort and security.

The team is more of a family, a family in which the members work together on a marvellous project. In spite of the nearly rural idyll, Marcel Ostertag´s designs are totally up-to-date. Thanks to the combination of his Bavarian background and his studies in London he has a feeling for modern lines, he develops a collection that, thanks to German tradition and international creativity, has developed into an amazing impression.

The designer invests a lot of time in small details and in research. Marcel Ostertag and his team gather inspiration in big cities, at fabric fairs, at vintage markets, in libraries, in nature and within the family. All these different influences bring Marcel Ostertag´s collection to life and give it the exact something that makes catwalks, image galleries and boutiques shine.
