  • morrel-- I am a Combat Medic myself fresh back from Iraq, and I will tell you this, that when you dont use propper safety meaasures like body substance isolation which is at the core of Army Medic training, you risk your own safety.

    I have a wife that I came back to and a life to live, and I would not put myself at undue risk by exposing myself to HEP C or HIV.

    It was too easy to have several pairs of gloves on me for myself and the Soldier assisting me.

  • @hadsao We do have Self-Aid / Buddy Aid, for first line Hemorrhage control and things of that nature as well. It's a basic soldier skill to know how to apply a tourniquet and pressure dressing.
