On the way to Mesa, AZ we stopped off and paid the $1 entrance fee to see what all the fuss was about. For the past 250 miles of I-10 we had been seeing roadsigns advertising "The Thing?".
I remember seeing "the thing" back when I was a kid, & I still remember how sad I was that the remains of a person was relagated to being just a "thing".
I very much appreciate that you all looked at all of the exhibits and didn't mock them like many of the other posts on Youtube. "The Thing" is every bit a part of Americana as the Hollywood sign, Fort Alamo, and the Grand Canyon as well as may others. I drove with my parents 50 years ago through Arizona and agonized over the opportunity to see "The Thing", which I never got to do.
You saw a piece of old west history no less important than Dodge City that you can share with your children.
Cool vid you saved me a trip lol the title got the best of me so i had to see what the hype was!
