Jailbreaking is legal. But it will break the Terms of Services, meaning if there ever is problem with the ipod/iphone, Apple can decline any service, even if it actually is not the fault of the jailbreaking.

But why jailbreak anyway ?

I don't have a problem with keeping my 3GS the way it is. But I just wana jailbreak to customize my iPhone. Like the backgrounds, the folders, and just to make my iPhone "mine." I hope apple doesn't make a big deal about and will go after crackolous and not the people jailbreaking. I proably will jailbreak but not do any of the crack app stuff, unless it is announced illegal and then I will restore. Anyway, that was a very helpful video. Thanks

Very intelligent people work night and day developing apps for iPhone/iPod. Many apps are free and many are discounted at sometimes over 50% off! That's good enough for me!

Great commentary. This is my opinion; Apple designs software and hardware to work "in concert" with one another. I believe that jailbreaking goes against the software/hardware relationship that Apple has spent years developing into their products. If you must jailbreak that is your decision but I will never alter my iPhone unless it is Apple is approved. Their technology is second to none and I'm not going to take a chance ruining my iPhone. It's the nicest electronic device I have ever owned.
