Catholic Relief Services (CRS) carries out relief and development programs in more than 100 countries and territories around the world. Founded in 1943, CRS is the official international relief and development organization of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). CRS provides assistance on the basis of need, regardless of nationality, race or religion. CRS responds to victims of natural and human-made disasters; provides assistance to the poor to alleviate their immediate needs; supports self-help programs that involve communities in their own development; helps people restore and preserve their dignity and realize their potential; and helps educate Americans to fulfill their moral responsibilities to alleviate human suffering, remove its causes and promote social justice. As the war in Iraq continues, more and more Iraqi civilians are fleeing the city of Baghdad to seek safety, leaving their homes and possessions behind. CRS is providing food, water, medicine, and shelter to hundreds of thousands Iraqi refugees, especially children and pregnant women displaced by past wars and the current conflict. The agency's Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Christine Tucker stated that today more than ever CRS is providing this aid with a "heavy heart". "The needs in Iraq - particularly health - were acute even before the onset of war, with high rates of infant mortality and a dire shortage of medicine. Now, this conflict holds the potential to spread in the region if movements of people result as expected." Tucker added, "At the same time as we support a humanitarian response, we must continue to work for peace, to lay the foundation for rebuilding what is damaged by the war and promoting the dignity of each Iraqi citizen."

The Usa, Inglan, EU press are distorting the facts, they tourch the news at theyr way for theyr interest... using the press like that, for lie, ... but people are not cretinous. Ingland, EU and USA are pushing to Iran people to the civil war if they don't get desarmed... blackmailing them... through the religious leader, all those people are get using for they leader who works for "USA", if they don't live the arms they're will be in a civil war... well there's yet a fact, dirty game!!

I believe that the Sunnis and the Shia and your country and Iran are fighting for control. The situation has gotten worse since the complete destruction of Iraq. However, I believe you are being very naive about the US and their involvement. It's an oil war for US profit and control. Perhaps you need to learn a little more about OUR history, too.

According to Robert Fisk, up until the US invasion, there were NO civil wars in Iraq's history.
The US put Saddam in power, who attacked Iran...but the US was essentially backing both countries in that war.

Well,It's up to you to believe me or not, but I came to U.S one year ago and I left Baghdad In June 2006 and I know my people more than anybody else... remember when we had to war for 8 years against Iran , there were no america in Iraq,Iraq has been always like this

Perhaps you have a hard time blaming a country that is now giving you shelter.
QuietGalTalking 3 years ago
Nourssing, I think if you were truly in Bagdad when the war began you would have a hard time blaming your own people for the slaughter there. Are you saying that the sunnis and the shias would have eventually killed 1.5 million Iraqi citizens, and made 2 million of them refugees?
QuietGalTalking 3 years ago
Baghdad, lived all my life there until the moment My family and I left for good, all my roots back to Baghdad. my eyes tear every time I see pictures or hear something about Baghdad, and I totally blame the Iraqis for what happened to Us

What part of Iraq are you a refugee from?
QuietGalTalking 3 years ago
Well , I won't lie to you U.S.G is a part of what happened to my country but the biggest is us, the hatness in our hearts to each other, The shia were waiting for the moment they take over and revange from the sunnies, the sunnies lost the lead and They didnt like it, Off course those are a small"%" of the Iraqis but they were enough to kill and distroy the country. The U.S.G biggest mistake was by supporting the wrong people and made them lead the country.

Do you really believe that the US is not to blame for the invasion of your country?
