  • Personally, I'm doing something similar to this 79 Capri proyect, I took an 83 Capri with a 3.8 liter V6 engine and automatic tranny and replaced it with a windsor type 5.0 V8 with GT short headers, swaped the auto tranny for a 5 speed tranny, but additionally, on the body, I replaced the original bumbers, tail lights and dash for 1993 GT Mustang bumbers, tail lights and dashboard, added a 93 GT tail spoiler, and Cobra emblems and letters on side panels and dash but with 1983 square headlights

  • I repeater thar last to change the tranny from a Torque flite to a Power glide ( my mistake )... haha...

  • But if you dont care about gas guzzling ( and economy drain for that matter ), you can go for what I drewl for: a 1969 Camaro ( SS, R/S or any version ) put in a 4 inch cowl hood, and reyoice yourself with a 350 ci engine with double cuad jet carb array and to sabor it off a pair of band driven turbos with some long type headers, a power glide auto tranny or a 6 speed manual one from a 90's Camaro, a very good life insurance, enjoying the fun and strong strait jaquet to go with it... haha...

  • So if you're searching for the best of both worlds ( this is quick handling of the car, power to spare, battle tank type of reliability, and gas economy ) you would have to go for a fox Mustang body (79 to 93 or 94 to 98 generations), a Ford 5.3 litre Windsor type V8 with perhaps aluminum cilinder heads (and if insane power is your goal put in a pair of band driven turbos), an automatic Ford tranny with overdrive or a manual if you want adrenaline, and the mandatory rear axel gears 3:55 are good

  • And Fords dont develop enough power to break their own selves down because they are too light and dont need it, but that doesnt mean either that Ford suck or that Chevy suck, it just depends on what you need or want, this is: If fuel economic power with agile handling due to light weight is what you look for then go for a Ford engine, but... if you are looking for power to spare paying the price in gas and the risk of breaking it down, then Chevy is your bet

  • The thing with Chevy's vs Fords is that Chevy's break down because they develop too much power even for them to handle, thats why they tend to break the screws on that hold the cilinder heads you see that in older Chevy engines and if that doesnt break, the screws on the crankshaft main break and the crankshaft goes flying under the car thats common in newer Chevy engines, Ford doesnt have that because they dont develop enough power for that cause they dont need it cause their too light

  • @Mexiger29enel2009 you see chevy's in old 33 Ford roadster because they are cheap ! cheap to rebuild . cheap to get new part's when they break ,and they break all the time . dime a dozen. just crap . oh you might say corvette . but if you stick enuff money in any thing and it's fast .

  • chevy's suck ! that why you need a 350 to come close to a 5.0 . I've had 8 Ford

302's and nothing with a gm 5.0 comes anywhere near a stock Ford . First On Race Day. I'm now running a 5.0 punched out .30 over ( a 306 at 410hpr) and have yet to have my ass handed to me .

  • And the fact that tells us ( well, anyone that really knows about car engines ) that Chevrolet engines are more powerfull than Fords is the fact that Chevrolet engines consume more gasoline, this is because this extra gas consumption is extra power that that Chevy engines produce ¿Clear enough for you all? (and if I were to put a relly powerfull Ford engine, I'd put in a Ford V10 econoline cargo van engine, that is powerfull in a Ford )
