Video of Mariah at the 2009 UNICEF Snowflake Ball at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on Wednesday, December 2, 2009. The special evening is an annual black-tie fundraising gala celebrating the lighting of the UNICEF Snowflake and honoring those individuals who have made key contributions to UNICEF's mission to save and improve children's lives worldwide. Mariah presented the "Spirit of Compassion Award" to IDJ Chairman Antonio 'LA' Reid.

Mariah's Red Carpet Interview
"I think UNICEF is an amazing cause. I've been involved with UNICEF for kind of a long time but tonight they're honoring one of the greatest men that I know and his name is LA Reid and so I couldn't be anywhere else in the world tonight. UNICEF has been so amazing over the years and I think it's just spectacular what they've done and so anytime I can be a part of helping out I'm here."

Mariah Introducing LA Reid
"LA Reid's musical talents and accomplishments are unparalleled; and his philanthropic ef... Listen, honey, I didn't go to college. I was making records! [laughs] His philanthropic efforts are limitless. Please welcome Antonio 'LA' Reid."

About UNICEF
UNICEF has saved more childrens lives than any other humanitarian organization in the world. Working in over 150 countries, UNICEF provides children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education, emergency relief, and more. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF's work through fundraising, advocacy, and education in the United States.

UNICEF is at the forefront of efforts to reduce child mortality worldwide. There has been substantial progress—the annual number of under-five deaths dropped from 13 million in 1990 to 8.8 million in 2008. But still, 24,000 children die each day from preventable causes. Their mission is to do whatever it takes to make that number zero by giving children the essentials for a safe and healthy childhood. For more information, visit www.unicefusa.org.
